Facial cleansing and detoxing with Nivea

Spread the love

Do you look after your skin effectively? Sunlight, pollution and everyday dirt can take their toll —particularly on our faces, which are exposed for much of the day. Effective cleansing and moisturising with a Sun Protection Factor (SPF) help to protect against ultraviolet (UV) B rays and keep us looking good. As a member of the Nivea Family of bloggers and influencers MannedUp was recently sent four products to use for facial cleansing and detoxing.

For most fellas, the idea of spending a few minutes diligently cleaning their face doesn’t jump out as the most obvious utilisation of leisure time. But don’t knock it until you try it. It feels very pleasant to cleanse properly, apply a detox mask and apply a moisturiser.

Facial cleansing for men?

Not convinced? How about pouring a glass of your favourite drink (try a cup of green tea if you want to take cleansing and detoxing to the next level), playing a few of your favourite tunes and having a bit of a pamper session?

Really! It’s easy to relax into, particularly if you also get your partner involved.

Nivea’s organic aloe vera cleansing wipes have a pleasant aroma and are biodegradable. Soft to the touch, the wipes are made from plant fibres from a renewable source.

Admittedly, cleansing wipes are frequently used to remove makeup but they can also be handy for removing grime after a working week or a sweaty session down at the gym.

Nivea urban detox masks

A few years ago the idea of men applying a facial cleansing mask while seated on a sofa, sipping wine and watching a television series about a professional hitwoman being tracked by an obsessive female (the show we were viewing was Killing Eve) would have been unimaginable, right? Despite all the other woes of the modern world it’s no bad thing that that’s possible.

The new 3-in-1 Urban Skin Detox Clay Wash (£) from Nivea acts as a wash, scrub and cleansing mask (£):

Made with natural clay, black rice and green tea extract it can be applied and left on the face as a mask for up to five minutes before rinsing or simply used as a wash. As a wash it exfoliates and cleanses pores. If used as a mask, it can be applied two or three times a week.

The Nivea Peel Off Urban Skin Detox Mask (£) is also new (£):

The mask helps to remove dirt and reduce excess oil from the face. It should be applied and left on for 15 to 20 minutes. As it dries you might feel like your face is tightening up. Afterwards we agreed that the skin on our faces felt softer and fresher than half-an-hour earlier.

Afterwards we poured ourselves another glass of wine before applying the Daily Essentials 24H Moisture Book and Refresh moisturising cream (£):

It has a SPF of 15 and features Vitamin E and an anti-oxidant.

The cleansing session was relaxing and left our skin feeling good. As a way of relaxing midweek or as part of pre-night out preparations, applying a face mask could well catch on!
